Tyke Hike (10 a.m. to Noon) *Meet at the Blue Ridge Trailhead This discovery hike is an easy walk, for children ages 4-6 and caregivers. Bring water and snacks, and wear sturdy footwear. Life on the Farm: Planting a Vegetable Garden (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) *Meet near the Visitor Center Help us plant our vegetable garden. All farm hands will get to take home seeds. Muck Raking (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) *Meet at Turner Pond Scoop up some muck and use microscopes to look for tiny critters called "invertebrates." Be sure to wear "wettable" shoes. Tales from the Mount Bleak Attic (3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) *Meet at the Carriage Barn Search through clues left by the artifacts themselves and identify the items and their uses. Bats are Back! (6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) *Meet at Turner Pond off Route 17 Meet Park Naturalist Trish Bartholomew for bat facts and a bat trivia game. Hike up to the old barn to wait for these night mammals. Astronomy for Everyone (8 p.m. to 11 p.m.) *Meet behind the historic Mount Bleak House "Junior Astronomer" program ages 5-12 Family Presentation on space research Use large telescopes No entrance to the park after 9 p.m. $5 per car
